PID Special Board Meeting – Landscaping Contract

December 5, 2019

In attendance: Kevin Prince, John Everitt, Marion Alford, Leslie Smith and Lori Voss

Meeting held at Old Fannin Restaurant, Brandon.

Meeting came to order at 12:00 p.m.

Landscaping Contract: It has been decided that the Board would like to re-bid our landscaping and weed control contracts. Weed Warriors will not be doing weed control in 2020 and SchoggenScapes gave us a quote to assume weed control that was higher than anticipated. Several companies were discussed. We would like to contact approximately six companies and hope to receive at least three bids to choose from. Of the names discussed, Solid Ground and Four Seasons Lawn and Landscaping have been contacted and are interested in submitting bids. We assume SchoggenScapes will also submit a bid. Kevin will contact Complete Lawn Care to see if they are interested in bidding. Linda at Orkin Neighborhood Management will also be contacted to see if she can recommend any other companies to contact.

Weed control companies discussed include Shades of Green, Brad’s Green Machine and Lawn Doctor. If the landscaping companies want to also bid the weed control, they may do that.

Kevin has prepared a bid specification sheet and requirement sheet for all prospective companies to use to prepare their bids (attached). All bids need to be submitted by January 6, 2020. We will then meet to discuss bids.

Board vacancy: Leslie spoke with Jamene Banks, a resident of Turtle Ridge and former Pinelands Board member, and he is interested in filling John Everitt’s spot on the PID Board. A vote will be taken at regular Board meeting in January to confirm.

Next meetings: Tuesday, January 7, 2020 to discuss landscaping contracts. Monday, January 20, 2020 for next regular Board meeting.
